HIV Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) Availability at Oregon Pharmacies
HIV PEP can prevent HIV acquisition when initiated within 72 hours after an exposure, but is most effective when taken in the first 24 hours. Not all pharmacies stock medications commonly prescribed for PEP, so it’s important to know which pharmacies stock which medications to expedite access. If a pharmacy does not stock a medication, it can typically be ordered, however medication can take between 24-72 hours to be available for pick up. Learn more about HIV PEP.
